In this hard drive upgrade example, this excellent laptop was developing hard disk errors on a 1 TB (or 1000 GB) hard drive that was installed, so the customer decided that he wanted Riches Informatique to change the hard drive and at the same time upgrade to a faster Solid State Drive or, “SSD”. Instead of cloning the original drive, the customer wanted a fresh start and a brand-new Windows installation on his computer — no problem there.
Riches Informatique removed the old drive pictured on the left of the laptop and installed a SSD. After formatting the new SSD-drive, a fresh installation of Windows 10 was completed and after downloading and installing important Microsoft updates, the computer tested ok overnight and was ready to be returned to the customer the next day.
How fast does this laptop boot-up now? Well, from the moment you press the start button, it takes 14 seconds for the Windows 10 desktop to load fully.
